EDUCATION & FORMATIVE YEARS

Ar. Jhanji holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from a recognised institution. His upbringing was shaped by his father's military service, which took the family across multiple regions of the country — an itinerant childhood that proved to be a rich education in itself. Constant exposure to India's diverse built environments, cultural landscapes, and ways of living cultivated in him an acute sensitivity to place, context, and the relationship between architecture and the people it serves.

This early immersion in the breadth of Indian life — its vernacular traditions, urban complexities, and regional character — laid the philosophical foundation for a design practice that is always rooted in the human experience rather than mere formal expression.

PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY

After completing his degree, Ar. Jhanji spent six formative years working in the studios of architects Sandeep and Geeta Uppal — a period he credits as instrumental in shaping his professional discipline and design rigour. Working on varied project typologies across scales, he mastered the craft of translating a client's brief into spatially coherent, technically sound built work. This apprenticeship instilled in him both the technical vocabulary of architecture and the professional ethic of attention to detail that continues to define his practice.

During this period, he also developed a cross-disciplinary outlook — collaborating with engineers, landscape professionals, contractors, and artisans — an approach he continues to champion at every project he undertakes. His philosophy is simple: great architecture is a team sport, and the architect's role is to be its most informed and empathetic orchestrator.

CO-FOUNDER — DESIGNAMA

Ar. Jhanji co-founded Designama as a platform at the intersection of design thinking and creative entrepreneurship. Designama reflects his belief that architecture and design are not confined to the production of buildings — they are problem-solving disciplines whose methods can be applied to broader questions of spatial experience, brand identity, and human-centred innovation.

In 2020, Ar. Jhanji co-founded HAD Studio — Hitesh Aarvi Design Studio — alongside Ar. Aarvi Jhanji, establishing a full-service architecture and interior design firm headquartered in Faridabad, Haryana, with a presence spanning Chandigarh, Delhi NCR, and beyond.
